“The idea of an outdoor family concert adventure with popular ‘60’s music icons is a dandy idea. ...more than 2,000 fans who weathered a Sunday afternoon high of 96 degrees while enjoying The Monkees, the Grassroots and the Klifnotes at the West Texas Amphitheater. Assigned to warm up the crowd as the sun beat down, Klifnotes pulled out all of the stops and eventually earned the applause and praise from many while they performed. “The event attracted more than 2,000 attendees Thursday night to the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. Entertainment was the main attraction, with La Sombra, Motivo, Ballet Folklorico de San Patricio and my personal favorite , The Klifnotes, filling the bill. Eventually the Klifnotes made it to the stage, and I wondered how a classic rock and roll band worked it’s way into a Latino event. Both Jimmie Lee Mason on bass and Shane Haberstroth on drums provided a R&B flavor. Terry Fite on lead guitar set an excellent melodic platform for rhythm guitarist Bill Falkinburg. The lead vocals set forth were outstanding.”

Bill's patter and ad-libs added tremendously to the fun. And they weren't playing for people who didn't know what good music was supposed to be like, as both the bride and groom are composers for ESPN and several of the guests from L.A. were film and T.V. producers, musicians and composers.
